Carefully: Eczema treatment depends partly on how bad it is, where it is, and how long it has been going on. People with mild eczema (that started recently) of the eyelids or near the eyelids usually benefit from over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream for a few days to a week or so. To avoid long-term hydrocortisone use on the eyelids, dermatologists have some non-cortisone creams (Protopic and Elidel).
