I believe i have some type of tinnitus. however, my hearing is perfect and the event is (most of the time) purely voluntary. should i be concerned?

Tinnitus: The most common cause of tinnitus is Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL). A hearing test is an excellent idea, as is a consultation with an ENT Surgeon who will scope your eustachian tube to determine whether it is patulous. The next step will be to find a tinnitus clinic. Studies have shown several other conditions can cause tinnitus, and your doctor will determine what lab tests they will run.
