I have tinnitus, 4 years of artillery, is it common for my ears to pop then ring at least 5 times louder to the point of not hearing people talk around me? happens at least once a day and lasts 1 min up to hours?

Tinnitus is not common and may progress to intolerable levels, that is why you have to establish with ENT at a center specializing in tinnitus. A hearing test will be needed as it appears likely that you suffered inner ear damage.
