Bilateral tinnitus: Can be due to a myriad of of causes such as vascular, neurological, somatic (eg TMJ from whiplash), or stemming from the auditory system, and each category is further divided to additional more specific causes. Talk to your doc and he or she will ask you certain questions to help guide you.
