Gum Grafting: Sometimes it is helpful to seek second opinions. Asking why treatment was not rendered with little information is nearly impossible to effectively answer.

Gum disease complex: Grafting is a specific procedure for specific circumstances. Periodontal disease often takes decades to claim teeth; and when too much bone that supports the teeth is lost the tooth can't be saved. If you lost these teeth it is unlikely that grafting would have helped.

Progression?: Periodontitis is a disease of progression of bone loss, not just bone loss. If you have bone loss but not progressively, you will not need any treatment. If your bone loss level starts to increase over 6 months, then more invasive therapy may be needed. Your problem may be worth looking into, but not necessarily significant. Be patient. May look for lanap treatment first.
