A member asked:

I suppose that since i cannot floss now for 1 wk. between the adjacent teeth of the tooth that was gum grafted that tartar will harden itself there?

Not necessarily: Tartar doesn't necessarily form that quickly. Just follow your dentist's advice, and then start flossing as soon as they allow, since flossing is essential to good dental health. Hope this helps!

Post op Grafting: Follow your surgeon's instructions. Yes the graft needs a little time to mend. Use your finger to gently, gently massage the area. Keep your mouth clean every where else. Cal the office for specifics. They will be glad to help with your concerns.

Instructions: Always best to ask your own dentist these types of questions. Having said that, this is not a problem or a big deal as your dentist can remove any hard deposits on subsequent follow up visits as he/she monitors your healing.
