Triglycerides: Watch your diet. Eat more protein foods, exclude carbohydrates and fats, do regular exercise for atleast 45 minutes per day x min 5 days per week. Recheck triglyceride level after 6 months. If no response, then medical therapy is required. Also need to exclude causes like hypothyroidism and familial disease (if any).

Lower triglycerides.: Regular cardiovascular exercise, low saturated and trans fats in the diet. Avoid fried, deep fried and sauteed foods. When cooking, bake, broil or grill. High fiber - 50 grams daily in divided doses across smaller more frequent meals. Niacin and fish oil supplementation, 2000mg of each daily in divided doses.
