Avoid sugar, starch: Avoiding sugars and starches can lower triglycerides. Losing weight helps. Since a person has to eat, if she avoids sugars and starches, that means she will likely eat more proteins. Also, avoid the bad fats in foods, but getting Omega-3 fatty acids is ok. Regular exercise lowers triglycerides too. One's doctor can check for hypothyroidism, prediabetes, metabolic syndrome, or familial disorders.
