Triglyceride level must be taken when you are fasting for at least 14 hours. You need to make sure it was done with this fasting. Eating less sugary food or any carbohydrates can help lower triglycerides. Also, regular exercise. Exercise can have an effect on your triglycerides for at least 48 hours. With high triglycerides you should also be tested for diabetes. Diabetes increases triglycerides.
