A member asked:

Is it normal for a cut to turn light pink/whitish when healing or should it remain dark red like blood/scab?

Wound healing: Although some wounds heal with dark red scab, a wound usually responds to a moist environment and may heal with a whitish or light pink appearance. If there is no opaque drainage, surrounding erythema (redness) or pain having a wound heal without a dark red scab may actually produce less scarring.
