Could be related: I had to look this up but weight gain is a common symptom in patients with prolactinoma and improves when medication is used to lower the prolactin level. Drug of choice is cabergoline which I think you will be started on after the MRI is done. It is effective in both lowering prolactin and reducing the size of prolactin-secreting tumors which rarely require surgery.
