Mini gastric bypass: In the academic bariatric surgery community, few if any of the surgeons would recommend the mini gastric bypass. It uses a technique that has proven to have problems that are usually corrected by switching to a roux-en-y. I attend all of the national surgical conferences, and this is not a recommended operation.
