Keloids and steroids: The amount of steroid usually used for keloids is small enough and the interval with which they are used long enough to where it has only a transient effect on blood sugar. The significant effects seen with oral steroids are less since it a local delivery to a keloid. It is unlikely to cause or hasten diabetes but you should have your blood sugars monitored by your physician if you are concerned
