Discuss options: At age 40, I would suggest an implant supported denture if you need a denture. Implant supported dentures in 2015 is considered the standard of care. A denture replaces all of your natural teeth and an implant supported denture makes it easier to transition due to its stability. There is also the option of implant supported crowns, if your finances allow. Discuss all options with your dentist

Different parts: The implants are the screws that are placed in the jaw... consider them the anchors, or the foundation. The denture is the prosthetic which fits over and is held in place by the implants. The prosthetic mimics the lost teeth.

Different options: The dental implants is a better option than dentures. Dental implants don’t wiggle or slip, as dentures can, and they are healthier for the gums and bone. Most patients find implants easier to maintain than dentures.

Much different: if you have no teeth you would wear dentures that would be held onto tour gums and can float around if you don't have good bone support Implants are titanium screws which are placed into your jawbone and a denture can either snap into the implants or be screwed into the implants and it is very stable and the best way to go
