About

Bio

I am a General Dentist , practicing more then 25 yrs, with an primary interest in restoring function as well as esthetics . Cosmetic Dentistry is not a recognized specialty within dentistry, we ( dentists) all have the skillets to do it., so I choose not label myself that way. The majority of my continuing education over the years has been in Implant Dentistry( also not a specialty). Through numerous lectures , hands on courses ( some involving cadaver specimens) and the 2 yr Comprehensive Training I received at NYU, where I remain on as faculty , I have acquired the ability to better restore a patients mouth, in many cases even without drilling teeth. Please refer to the Implant page on my office website to answer some of your questions....http://www.mahopacdental.com/implants/ While preserving a tooth in most cases is best , through the use of implant dentistry, more predictable outcomes can be achieved, rather than putting the patient through "heroic" procedures with less predictable outcomes.

Specialties
Doctors may have more than one area of specialty interest. Board certification in a specialty area means the doctor has completed formal training and has practice experience in that specialty, and has passed the certification examination from the corresponding accredited medical specialty board.

This was very helpful. Thanks! I got it and will work further with my periodontist. Some questions cannot be answered clear enough by office staff: follow up consult = $100. Bye!

This was very helpful. Thanks! In a month 2 side-by-side implants will be placed by periodontist who did gum grafts. Expensive but there is a loan credit program out there. Bye!

This was very helpful. Thanks! Guess it is fair since I stage vs. 2 stage and without crown. Insurance will only cover gum graft at site area. Greatly appreciated.
