Good question...: that I do not have the answer for. Try contacting the American Association of Orthodontists or poll local orthodontists for their opinion. Public perception must have some bearing since Invisalign has become very popular!

No difference: Ceramic braces are the exactly same size and shape as metal braces, except that they have tooth-colored or clear brackets that blend in to teeth. The same treatment, the same goal, the same great outcome.

Depends on brand: Clear braces function just like metal brackets with the exception of the color if the manufacturing quality is good. I use Clarity Advanced brackets from 3M and only documented difference between these brackets and their metal siblings is that the clear ones don't break as much and are harder to remove from the tooth. Although white wires have higher friction and teeth move slower with them.

Ortho Braces: I am not an Orthodontist but want to suggest that the most important factor in the success of Orthodontic treatment is choosing the most qualified Orthodontist. What type of treatment, conventional or Invisalign or whether the brackets are metal or clear is secondary and should be decided by the Orthodontist after a discussion of pros and cons of each with the patient and parent.
