A member asked:

Ultrasound-reactive lymph node side of neck, pain comes and goes. stays swollen, neck pain sometimes. no other symptoms. antibiotic didn't help. why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lymphadenopathy: Reactive nodes are responding to drainage from an inflammation in the area which drains to those nodes. If the antibiotics did not help then either it is not a sensitive bacterial infection, or the site of the infection is not being reached by the antibiotic (dental abscess, other). Have you ever been exposed to TB?
