Yes: The magic day for symptoms is day #3, but you can lose the clot anytime. Just rinse gently after meals. Don't go peeking to see if you still have clot. Good Luck.

Dry socket: Rinse gently and eat a soft diet to minimize dry socket. Follow the post op instructions your were given.

Unlikely: Dry socket is actually quite rare. When it does occur it is most likely to happen with extraction of lower molars 3-4 days after the extraction. Avoiding smoking and alcohol had help reduce chance of formation. When rinsing with warm salt water rinse gently to avoid dislodging the clot covering the extraction site. Some light bleeding 1-2 days post extraction is normal.

See dentist: Make sure not to smoke, spit excessively- that may dislodge the clot and drink through a straw. If problematic see the dentist that performed the extraction. Also, biting on a tea bad can decrease the bleeding.

It is possible: if the blood clot gets dislodged prematurely from the tooth socket or nicotine constricts blood vessels which slows the formation and expansion of the healing blood clot in the socket. This leads to the painful complication a Dry Socket. If concerned call your dentist for eval.
