YES YOU CAN HAVE HIG: Yes you can have high white blood cells when you have a bacterial infection, and if your child has bacterial pneumonia, his white count was up and that is normal with pnumonia.

Too often together: In pneumonia the WBC count is often elevated as WBC fight infection.
