MPV test stands for: mean platelet volume test. This looks at the size of your platelets (instead of the number). A high number means a larger platelet which usually means it is younger. It is likely that the platelets are being produced more rapidly from bone marrow. I included a reference for reasons that it may be high. I don't know it to be high from pneumonia. https://www.healthline.com/health/mpv-test#high-mpv

No: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your MPV is not a cause for concern. Wish you good health!
