In treatment?: Have you had a full health evaluation? Are you getting treatment for depression? Are you seeing a psychiatrist? Are you also in psychotherapy (not only using medications)? Are you using alcohol or recreational drugs? All these are important aspects of working on depression. If not in treatment, see your doctor to get started. Otherwise, build a support team; make sure you exercise daily, etc.

Start by Starting: Low motivation=hallmark of depression! it's like having very little gas in ur tank: so u might want 2 take long car trip 2 ocean, but only have gas 2make it out of driveway! may be helpful 2 think about how 2 refuel ur body, mind& soul.Take small steps 2doing things u've enjoyed/have found meaningful, even though u may not feel like it. Create routine & stick 2 it! plan 2 eat, sleep, move, talk, play!

Set an alarm: I'm assuming that you are currently taking an anti-depression medication like zoloft or lexapro (escitalopram). With that base covered, make sure that your dose is enough. If you would only give your drug a b-, then double your dose. If you need motivation to exercise, then set your clock. Whenever the time comes, obey the rules you've made and go walking (or whatever). You may just need a trick to boost you up!
