Exercise: The best self-medication for depression is aerobic exercise. Use it if you have no physical reasons to avoid it (in that case consult your primary care doc). This will probably start working quickly for mild to moderate depression, but for anything greater than you might need to do talk to your doctor about psychotherapy and/or medications. Good luck!
