Both serious: Both are autoimmune diseases; mixed connective tissue disease is less common, still quite variable, and features high levels of antibody against u1 ribonucleoprotein as its signature lab test.

My diagnosis of SLE was recently changed to MCTD by my Rheumatologist. Was I misdiagnosed for years or can SLE turn into MCTD? Was it something I did wrong?
Two years ago I had a postive ana. Recently I had a comprehensive ANA panel done and by rnp antibodies were 4.4. Could this be sle or mctd?
Could facial paresthesia 3-6x month lasts 1-2 days, cheeks-chin be related to the ai diseases sle, mctd, sclero or dm? I am being tested for these.
I received blood test results with positive RNP and Ana not detected. Is it possible to not have SLE or mctd, or it's definite due to positive RNP?
