Both - quickest way: You are on the right track, 1400 cal/day is well below basic metabolic rate and with addional exercise the last 5 lbs should come off rather quickly. In my opion, caloric restriction is the key to weight loss, exericse is important and helps your health but the human body is quite efficent and only burns 300-400 cal with moderate exercise.

Diet & exercise: Make sure you exercise 90 minutes a day, don't skip meals, avoid soda, juice, dairy, alcohol and fried foods. Eat a healthy well balanced diet! also water, organic vegetable broth, green leafy vegetables, natural pickles, apples are great to fill you up so you dont feel hungry and they are very low in calories.
