I am 20 years old. i am not overweight, however, i am trying to lose a few pounds. i cannot seem to drop even a tenth a pound. i am eating about 1000 calories of low carbs and drinking only water. why am i not able to lose?

Check Thyroid: It does seem bizarre that on that kind of diet you cannot lose weight. Therefore, i suggest you get your thyroid gland checked out. Suggested lab tests would include T4 free, T3 (liothyronine) free, reverse t3, (liothyronine) anti-thyroglobulin antibodies and anti-thryroid peroxidase antibodies. The T4 and T3 (liothyronine) free should be within the upper 1/3 of the reference range (optimal) and reverse T3 (liothyronine) and antibodies should be normal.

Less protein more fa: I bet you are eating high protein. Excess protein will be converted into sugar via gluconeogenesis. Up the fat, lower the protein and eat more calories. Don't starve your self.
