Dry socket: Dissolvable stitches typically take 4-10 days to dissolve. As long as the clot has been retained ( the dark blob in the socket), you should be healing well. The stitches pull the tissue together to hold the clot in. If prolonged pain is present, please return to the extracting dentist for potential dry socket therapy and/ or an antibiotic prescription. Dry socket can be debilitating.

No, not really: This is not uncommon. If this becomes more of a problem you will need to return to the oral surgeon or dentist that treated you.

Not at all: These types of stitches do not necessarily dissolve evenly and therefore it is quite common for them to fragment or even pull out. The most critical time for stitches to stay in is the first few days. If it's annoying or you are concerned, you can call your dentist and have him or her see you.

No : You will be fine. If stitches come out early it is not a big deal at all. The sockets usually will heal fine.

No: Reborn able sutures dissolve at different rates depending on gauge and salivary factors. I have seen them dissolve in anywhere from 3- 14 days. With good tissue apposition, tissue i healing holds things together in 48 hr. You will be fine!
