A member asked:

Is it bad if your wisdom teeth stitches came out before they were supposed to?

Not necessarily: Sutures (stitches) are usually left in for 4-7 days after surgery. There may be no problem if they are lost sooner, but the area should be examined by the treating surgeon.

May be: It depends, your surgeon will tell, and when you were suppose to have them removed. If you lost them right away, you should go back, if you had them for a while and you feel well, a call to the office should clear the issue. Keep in mind hat some sutures are meant to fall by themselves. In general we want the tissue to stay together for a week. Get well.
