Both: Your general ophthalmologist can provide the appropriate care in most instances. If it is necessary to see a glaucoma specialist, he/she will likely refer you to one at the appropriate time. You can always seek a second opinion with a glaucoma specialist as well or follow with one as you are fit.

Pressure control: Usually progression of glaucoma is slow but it depends on the control of the intraocular pressure. The better control the more likely it will not progress or progress slowly. Can not say if advanced without seeing the health of your eyes and optic nerves.
