Progressive disease: Glaucoma is a chronic disease with progressive changes if the pressure is too high for the eye to withstand it. With 30% loss, you must have had some defects on a visual field test. Was this done in the past? Glaucoma must be managed by an ophthalmologist - were you seeing another type of specialist? Hopefully you are on the right track now.

Sneak theif of sight: Glaucoma is known as the "sneak theif of sight" there are little to no symtoms of vision loss until it is very advanced. Yearly exams can detect glaucoma but the proper testing needs to be done to detect it early and prevent progression. Certain types of glaucoma can cause rapid damage and none may have exsisted at previous exams. We reccomend oct, optic nerve photos, visual fields and gonio.
