Nutrition & exercise: As you've surmised, nutrition & exercise are key to weight loss/maintenance & health. Surprisingly, we all know what's healthy. The issue is eating what's healthy & avoiding what's bad. The part of the coin is exercise. Regular physical activity. Doesn't have to be drudgery but you have to get active. Don't have to join a gym. Just start w/simple walk & body weight exercises like push ups & pullup.

Reduced calories: You must reduce caloric intake by 3700 calories per week to lose 1 pound. Because you are more than l00 pounds overweight or morbidly obese you need a structored program, preferably l2-step, if you are ok with that component which would include a supervised exercise program. If possible, psychological support is desirable.
