No. Consider UFE: Uterine fibroid embolization is an alternative to surgery. A small device(catheter) is guided to the arteries feeding your fibroids and small particles are used to cut off blood flow and the fibroids die. This is done under x-ray guidance by an interventional radiologist. The risks are very low and the success is high with a much shorter recovery period than surgery.

Just wait.: 50% of women have at least one small fibroid. At menopause, they usually shrink by themselves so wait. Even if you are having symptoms, like pain, heavy menses or urinary frequency patience may pay off. If there is rapid growth, which is rare, surgery may be indicated. If you have abnormal bleeding an endometrial biopsy may be all you need. Medical therapy is preferred if you need any treatment.
