Generally yes: Robotic gyn surgery is generally safe when performed by experienced surgeons. Laparoscopic surgery with or without the da vinci results in a faster recovery than open surgery and the da vinci allows the surgeon to see much better than regular laparoscopic surgery. Like any major surgery, there are risks.

Fibroids: That depends on how large the fibroids are. Robotic surgery for fibroids is very safe, but at some point, if the fibroid is huge, you can't really do it robotically or laparoscopically and need to do it as an open operation.
