Evaluation: Will be necessary to determine if these 2 events are related. Most often a 'high' spot on a new filling will be more problematic than a 'low' spot. Tmd symptoms may or may not be caused by changes in your bite accompanying the new filling.

More info needed: Did you have any TMJ symptoms before? Have you discussed this issue with your dentist? Just by keeping your mouth open wide may trigger some TMJ or muscle pain. If your bite feels uncomfortable or you are unhappy with the length of your teeth or your bite, simple let the dentist know. It sounds like a simple adjustment, if necessary, will resolve your problems. Speak to your dentist.
