It All Depends: I can see his hesitation but it really depends on why & where the chip occurred. He's probably concerned that you may break his work. Also, how your bottom teeth meet up with chipped tooth is crucial. If you really want it fixed, he can restore it but he may have to smooth down the opposing tooth or teeth. If you don't do the latter, then a splint is important to protect the dental work & teeth.
