A member asked:

My dentist said he didn't want to put a bonding on a small chip on my tooth b/c the location, what other options do i have because it bothers me?

It All Depends: I can see his hesitation but it really depends on why & where the chip occurred. He's probably concerned that you may break his work. Also, how your bottom teeth meet up with chipped tooth is crucial. If you really want it fixed, he can restore it but he may have to smooth down the opposing tooth or teeth. If you don't do the latter, then a splint is important to protect the dental work & teeth.

Second Opinion: There are many factors and options that should be considered when choosing how to repair your chipped tooth. If you don't feel comfortable with your dentist opinion, seeking a second opinion for dental treatment is recommended.
