Count them: Infants will have up to 20 teeth 10 lower teeth by their 3rd birthday. If more than that it's excessive. By that time i would hope the kid is being followed by a dentist & you can ask the questions to the one who has had a chance to examine him/her. We encourage parents to seek dental monitoing at their1st birthday.
