Is it safe to wear retainer when you have dentures?

That depends: I presume you are talking about a mouthguard, not an orthodontic retainer. If you have a well fitting partial denture and you have a custom mouthguard made to properly fit with it, the answe is yes. I would not wear an over the counter mouthguard. If you have a full denture then no do not wear them together. Instead take out the denture and have a mouthguard made that fits without the denture.

Confused: If you have a retainer to hold teeth in place, why are you wearing a denture?

What?: People with dentures have no teeth. Retainers are only for teeth.

Retainer/denture: Retainer keeps natural teeth from shifting. Denture replaces missing teeth. See a Dentist for examination and questions about wearing specific appliances. Know that OTC appliances cost very little, and are worth what you pay for them.
