Is it okay to take my 3 yr old to the dentist?

You're late: The american dental association and the american academy of pediatric dentist recommend 1st dental appointment at age 1. Additionally, the american association of orthodontists recommends 1st visit to the orthodontist at age 7. There are many good developmental reasons for these recommendations.

Of course it is: It is recommended that most children are evaluated by a dentist at age 1 in today's dental thinking, but you can and should have the child examined even at age 3.
