Type 2 diabetes: Is a disease of Insulin resistance, not insufficient Insulin production (as in type 1). Your body is producing more Insulin than it should because your brain is ordering your pancreas to make more in response to higher glucose levels, but since you're resistant to insulin, the Insulin builds up without having the ability to get glucose inside your cells.
