Of course: I'm very pleased that you are exercising. I've been around gyms quite a bit and have known several type I diabetics who lift regularly. You'll want to discuss your exercise, diet and insulin habits with your physician. Especially, be sure you discuss your use of fish oil with your physician.

Yes, it's OK: Hi. You are probably well aware that either aerobic exercise or weights can influence your insulin (Ins) requirements over the next 12-24 hours, so be cautious of hypoglycemia of course. Yes, it's fine (and probably frequently quite necessary!) to take Ins after a workout. I try to get all my type 1 patients to exercise regularly. I'm type 1 and exercise regularly. We all take Ins after exercise.
