If you're not taking to much iron supplements and have a high serum iron with a low UIBC, hemochromatosis would be a consideration despite normal ferritin level which can occur early in that disease especially in women who lose iron during menses for years.. Do you have a family history of hemochromatosis which can also cause diabetes?. Consult a hematologist for evaluation and advice
