Oh : Oh my gosh. I think that it is wonderful that your 14 year old has friends and that they have something in common. I loved horseback riding at her age. It is so much healthier as a young teen to ride and care for horses than it is to be bored, to have sex, to smoke cigarettes, to drink alcohol or to take drugs. Horse back riding allows your child an active, outdoor activity, time to socialize with her friends and allows her to partake in something that is fun and often relaxing. I don't know who is judging your daughter, but i think i might be tempted to tell them to bugger off. I would be very happy if my children were in her situation. Take care.

Your : Your daughter has a hobby that she shares with a group of friends who all enjoy the same interest; that sounds great. As a parent you are most concerned with your children's values and activities: are they responsible? Are they learning? Are they kind to others? Are they safe, happy, and healthy? If the answers to these questions are yes, then the focus of their hobby is irrelevant.
