Not likely: Year of acid injury to the esophagus because of gerd and cause changes to the cells that are pre-cancerous (barrett's esophagus) and eventually esophageal cancer. But if those changes are not present when gerd is diagnosed, and medicine is taken to stop gerd, those risky things should never occur.
