No steroids for you: Until a physician has taken a complete history & performed a physical examination including looking at those spots. My colleagues & i at healthtap can't do that yet. You may have eczema, hives, contact dermatitis or the rash may be unrelated to the elevated ige. Corticosteroid creams have an extraordinary track record of effectiveness & safety. Don't refuse them out of lack of knowledge. Good luck.

Difficult to answer: It's difficult to treat a rash without actually seeing the rash--i would recommend seeing your physician.
