Enhancement: Allows radiologist to see images better so that certain types of tissues show up better. Safe except if you are allergic to it.

Tissue enhacement: The injected dye is typically based on heavy metal called gadolinium. Due to its chemical structure, it allows visualization of the way tissues show vascular supply or lack of vascular supply. This is called enhancement. As an example, it may allow one to differentiate between a cyst which typically does not enhance and solid growth which typically enhances.
