Hip arthrogram: Following local anesthesia, a long thin need needle is placed into the hip joint, usually with x-ray/fluoroscopic guidance. A small amount of contrast(dye) is injected into the joint. X-rays are usually performed. If it is an MR arthrogram, the patient is transferred to the MRI unit and an MRI of the hip is performed.
