Lasting weight loss: In order to lose weight and keep it off, you need to make a commitment to a permanent lifestyle change. No diet is permanent. Eat 75-85% of your daily calorie needs (and count them). www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ try to lose at a healthy pace of 0.5-1.5 lbs per week and most importantly count calories. Don't skip meals. Increase h2o. Good luck.

Cut calories : It all depends on what kind of immobility you have, if it is lower part of your body you can exercise the upper part and vise versa. But the main point is to restrict calorie intake.
