If there was rapid: weight loss in a week - than a fair amount of it might be due to fluid losses. I know that people can get excited about losing lots of weight in a short period of time - but, slower weight loss is better to keep it off. 1/2 to 1 pound in a week is a healthy rate of loss. Try not to exceed 2 pounds per week on average. However, it is not uncommon to lose 5 pounds in a week initially (H2O loss).
