Be careful: In reality the cheapest way is actually the most expensive way. I have patients come in weekly that recieved a $3000 breast augmentation from a clinic and need major revsion so they end up paying revision fees and the second surgery as well. Be careful and find a surgeon you can trust. There is a helpful blog entitled "the anatomy of the $3000 breast augmentation" that you should read!

Beware cheap surgery: I try to discourage my patients from price shopping for surgery. While i understand that cost is a factor, i believe it is much more important that you find a surgeon who you trust and are comfortable with after meeting with them. I also believe that you should make sure the surgeon is board certified in plastic surgery and not some other "cosmetic" board that does not meet the same standards.

Cheap breast implant: I tell my patients not to go to the cheapest place in town. You should research your surgeon, view before and after photos, feel comfortable with the surgeon and most importantly: see a board certified plastic surgeon! don't be fooled seeing a "cosmetic surgeon" who is poorly trained or not certified. This person usually lacks training, experience and credibility.

Cheap: not criteria: Price is important in your decision making process but it should not be the most important factor. This is not like buying a ford. This means that not all surgeons are the same and therefore you are not comparing equal results or outcomes. Choose on the basis of qualifications, experience, referrals, compatibility and results. If you still want the cheapest, consider medical tourism or university.

Not Wise: This question should not be anywhere close to the top of the list. “cheap work is not good and good work is not cheap”. Remember that revisionary breast surgery can be more costly in many ways. Select the best plastic surgeon you can to achieve your goals. If he/she “costs” too much, wait on having the surgery.

Go for Quality: Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure and should only be performed by a qualified surgeon. You should seek out a board certified plastic surgeon, not just someone who claims to be a "cosmetic surgeon". The cost can range from $5-10, 000. Ask to see pictures and ask a lot of questions. It is about the results, no the cost.

Cheap: Surgery is much like life, "you get what you pay for". Price is a small part of the equation for breast augmentation surgery. The most important factor is seeing a board certified plastic surgeon by the american board of plastic surgery. There are other made up boards such as cosmetic surgery boards that are contrived boards and not recognized.

Do you want...: Cheap, or do you want quality? I'd recommend the latter!

Quality, not Cost: I am always concerned when people are seeking the cheapest way to get cosmetic surgery. Often people get what they pay for and, if problems occur, the bill can be much higher than if done properly the first time. Seek consultation with a plastic surgeon and make an informed decision about the quality of your care, not just the price.

Cheaper not better: The cost for breast augmentation will vary depending on geographic location, type of implant, and type of anesthesia. The national average is $5, 975. In my practice most patients spend $5, 000 for a silicone breast augmentation under general anesthesia as an outpatient.

Don't go cheap: Cheap can get expensive very fast. We see complications from "bargain" procedures every day. Please start with a board certified plastic surgeon. University teaching programs will have a resident's clinic. They are usually staffed with board certified plastic surgeons overseeing the work. Their cost may be a little less expensive. http://www.jjrothmd.com/procedures/breast-augmentation.
