Will dental implants or bridges reverse the change of my face due to missing teeth?

Possibly: If you have been missing all your teeth for a long time, your soft tissue (cheeks and lips) may have "sunken in" and creased or wrinkled. Filling out your mouth with implants and teeth will support and fill out the soft tissue. Same with your front teeth. If you have no front teeth, your lips will "sink in". Replacing your front teeth will support the lips again.

Often !: Depends on the area of missing teeth and the amount of support the replacement of those teeth can provide. You should see a prosthodontist for an evaluation. They are specially trained to evaluate and treat concerns such as yours. Often the results are remarkable. Best of luck.

Dental work & Aging: Loss of teeth results in collapse of the facial structure, increased wrinkles, sunken in cheek, etc. Dental implants and bridges re-establish the lost structures, improve facial structure and enhance smile.

Yes possibly.: Loss of teeth often causes the "sunken in" appearance you see in many individuals. Just think of a person with their dentures removed. Even missing a single tooth can cause a loss of facial volume in some people. For this reason replacement of teeth will give you a more youthful appearance.

This can vary: Teeth, gums and jaw bone provide lip support. If you are missing a number of teeth you can have "facial collapse" in these areas. In that case you would notice an improvement by replacing these missing teeth. The more pronounced change would be in the esthetics of your smile. Well done cosmetic dentistry can give you a more youthful appearance.

At least some....: It seems there would be enhancements. Perhaps some of the changes are not due to missing teeth.....? Ask your dentist about this since he/she knows the particulars of your situation.

Yes maybe: The lack of teeth and bone definitively transfor m the support on the face and lip area. With implant we can try to give back the support that wasmissing, but somettime it is not enough and the pt need also plastic surgery with face lifting, or juviderm, etc.
