Fat removal: Tummy tuck can remove unwanted fat and not necessarily all the fat.

No: A tummy tuck removes some skin and fat and allows for abdominal wall tightening. It does not remove all fat and is not a weight loss procedure. It is actually best when patients have already lost weight or at least stabilized their weight beforehand. http://www.cosmeticsurgerytruth.com/blog/?p=12583.

No: No procedure can remove all of the fat. Fat to some degree is protective to the circulation of the skin and can hide some of the imperfections that occur under the skin. A tummy tuck is a procedure that improves contour with a possible combination of belly tightening and/or removal of fat. If there are particular areas of concern, ask your ps if this will be addressed.

No.: Tummy tuck surgery generally removes excess skin and fatty tissue of the lower abdominal wall. Sometimes, additional ( judicious) liposuctioning may be helpful as well. Fat cells will remain; therefore, it is important for patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle and long-term stable weight after the procedure is performed ( in order to maintain the results of the procedure performed).

No : The standard tummy tuck design just removes fat from the incision level on up the to belly button level. While additional liposuction can be done in the upper abdomen, several studies show that this can increase the risk of complications.

No: There is no operation to remove 'all the fat'. A tummy tuck removes excess lower abdominal skin and fat.

No: No cosmetic procedures will remove ALL of the fat in an area. Nor would you want this, it wouldn't look nice. Because not all of the fat is removed, it is still possible to store fat in a treated area (it will just generally store less there b/c there are fewer cells), so healthy lifestyle choices are essential to maintaining any result. http://www.omahacosmeticsurgery.com/
